Imran rallies supporters across Punjab to support the rule of law and free and fair elections.

Imran Khan, leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), stated on Saturday that he would not stop holding rallies beginning next week and continuing through May 14.

At a Lakshami Chowk protest in support of the CJP, he stated the PDM had brought a guest into the country and treated him poorly. He assured us that the country would thrive under our leadership.

But first, he added, we need to hold elections. Six members of the Pakistan Army were killed in action in Parachinar, eight civilians were slain in unrelated violence, and inflation was on the rise, so he asked the prime minister, Shehbaz Sharif, why he was in London. He explained that his family and business were located overseas.

Mr. Khan claimed that he had braved the streets despite death threats. He claimed that we had been handled as if we were enemies.

The former prime minister thanked CJP Bandial and the other attendees for supporting the constitution. He explained that we were fighting for justice by declaring jihad.

Beginning next week, until May 14th, we will have rallies.

After his speech, he praised the rallygoers for coming out “twice in a week” through Twitter.

Mr. Khan had begun the pro-constitution and pro-CJP rally from his Zaman Park home earlier.

A passage from the Holy Quran translated as “Help from Allah and a near victory” set the tone for his protest, and he urged people from around the country to attend to support their constitutional rights, chief justice, and supreme court. “Take out one hour from your life starting at 5.30 pm because if the country’s constitution is derailed, the country will have no future,” he said.

He claimed the PDM had “derailed the constitution by ignoring the Supreme Court’s directive.”

Rallies held by the PTI in other cities

Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Daska, Hafizabad, and Faisalabad are just some cities where the PTI holds rallies. The PTI Twitter crew posted photos and videos of people taking to the streets responding to Mr. Khan’s call.

As he put it, “our country, to demand our rights, and to stand up for the Constitution” needed fighters now more than ever. He said that a nation without the rule of law was doomed to fail.

The rallies are taking place as the judiciary and the government coalition continue to argue over whether or not to call quick elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces. The Supreme Court has repeatedly stated that its order to hold elections in Punjab on May 14 will remain unchanged. Still, the government is fighting against it by refusing to release funds and provide security for the Election Commission of Pakistan, which wants elections to be held across the country simultaneously.
