The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab recently published a report outlining the casualties within the past 24 hours due to the rainfall.

According to a PDMA spokesperson, four fatalities and eight injuries were reported in Punjab due to the intense rainfall, which has led to the emergence of flood hazards. The fatalities were reported in Lahore, Gujranwala, Mandi Bahauddin, and Faisalabad. The deceased individuals comprise three women and one child. Furthermore, five residential properties have experienced roof collapses due to heavy rainfall.

The Public Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has advised individuals to avoid approaching rivers and streams. Additionally, they have emphasized the importance of preventing children from engaging in bathing activities in rivers and canals. Individuals are strongly advised to avoid physical contact with electrical poles and wires.

The spokesperson emphasized the importance of following the guidelines set forth by the PDMA and district administration to mitigate potential losses. Rescue teams and authorities maintain a constant state of heightened vigilance. It is recommended that individuals refrain from inhabiting deteriorated structures. In an emergency, it is imperative to notify the appropriate authorities promptly.
